The St Petroc’s Dragons Triathlon Club came into being following a discussion between a group of parents of children at St Petroc’s Primary School, Bodmin, and a teacher at the school, Bob Brown (British record holder for the Deca-Ironman triathlon).
Back in January 2011, the school had set up a triathlon academy for selected children. They thrived on the hard training and have competed with increasing success and regularity at both a local and national level. By July 2012 most of the squad were about to leave the school, and a majority were enjoying their new sport so much they wanted to carry on. So the idea came to start a triathlon club here in Bodmin so that their enthusiasm and talent for the sport would not go to waste!
The club aims to be a friendly one based on enjoyment, training hard and competition. It is open to children and adults alike, providing regular training sessions, socials and an extensive racing calendar.
